Preparation of Rich Hydrocarbon Fuels from Swida Wilsoniana Oil by Coupling Catalytic Cracking and Alcohol Esterification

Swida wilsoniana tree is a kind of main woody energy plants distributed in the south of the Yellow River basin in China. Its fruit oil can be used as important raw materials in catalytic cracking. This paper studies the catalytic cracking decarboxylation reaction of Swida wilsoniana oil. Experiments show that CaO/KF made by ourselves has good catalytic effect, gas byproduct is lower than 12.00wt%, kettle residue is controlled less than 5.00wt%, the yield of liquid fuel oil products is higher than 82.00wt%. Because of high acid value, pyrolysis oil can’t be directly burned. This research adopts p-toluene sulfonic acid as catalyst for the esterification reaction. Under the optimization condition, acid value is lower than 1.00 mg KOH/g. The acid value of rich hydrocarbon fuels before esterification is too high for the engine to apply directly. After reduced acid value by esterification, the properties of rich hydrocarbon fuels are much closer to the traditional 0# diesel, meet the demand of alternative automotive diesel, achieve the purpose of energy conservation and emissions reduction.
