Natural gas hydrates are of large reserves and the depressurization method is of the most potential method for the gas hydrate reservoir recovery. In this paper, the constant-rate to constant-pressure production scheme is proposed for the reservoir’s depressurization, and the production characteristic was investigated numerically. The results showed as follows: (1) the gas production rate in the constant-rate production period was about 3 times higher than that of the constant-pressure production period; the gas dissociation rate was at a comparable level between the constant-rate production period and the constant-pressure production period, while the gas dissociation rate increased by nearly 200% in the constant-pressure production period; the water production rate was relatively stable both in the constant-rate production period and the constant-pressure production period. (2) There were similarities in the variation of pressure field, temperature field and gas hydrate saturation field; the low-pressure area, low-temperature area, and low hydrate saturation area expanded from the wellbore center. (3) The production effect in this paper was in the middle of pure constant-rate production and pure constant-pressure production; the gas production was good and the reservoir pressure could be well maintained.
