Abstract

To improve the utilization of noble metal catalysts, Pd deposition on Au nanoparticles supported by carbon nanotubes (CNTs) via galvanic replacement reaction (GRR) was explored to prepare Pd-Au/CNTs catalysts with high Pd utilization. CeO2 was introduced on Au surface to prepare Pd-CeO2/Au/CNTs catalysts further. Compared with Pd-Au/CNTs, not only the catalytic activity for formate oxidation but also the anti-poisoning performances were improved. Results indicated that, the utilization of Pd and the anti-poisoning performances of the catalysts were improved by the monolayer Pd on Au surface and the interfaces between Pd and CeO2, simultaneously.
