Abstract

Conversion of renewable lignocellulose into value-added levoglucosan and aromatics by fast pyrolysis has attracted lots of attention. The low selectivity of the target product is the key problem which limits the development of this process. In this paper, the composition of lignocellulose and its effect on the distribution of pyrolysis products are discussed. The pretreatment on lignocellulose prior to fast pyrolysis and catalytic pyrolysis technology can improve the yields of levoglucosan and aromatics.
