Sprays have a very broad application fields. A liquid spray can enhance contacting area between liquid and gas interface significantly within internal combustion engines of the automobile, aeroplane, rocket, and weapon system. It makes fuel combustion, mass and heat transfer process very fast. Therefore, spray theory research is very important to design and improve practical injection and combustion systems. Liquid jet first class breakup is a hot and difficult research point in fluid and combustion research area. An instability research is very complicated and difficult. There are still many key aspects to be improved. This paper will systematically study profund problems in spray theory, such as multi-order surface waves of liquid injection, Rayleigh and Taylor waves at the gas-liquid interfaces, temporal, spatial or convective, and absolute modes of surface waves, disturbance dimensions, linear and nonlinear instability theories.
