Progress in Biomass-Based Nitrogen Doped Porous Carbon Materials

Nitrogen-doped porous carbon materials (NACs) have been widely used due to its well-developed porous structure, abundant functional groups, and good stability. Biomass resource is widespread and economical, preparing NACs from biomass is a hotspot of current research. In this paper, the preparation process and relevant key influencing factors of NACs from various biomass were reviewed, the chemical speciation and formation mechanism of nitrogen were analyzed, and the application of NACs in the fields of energy storage, catalysis, and adsorption was introduced. Finally, the future research direction was prospected.
